Life Skills Specialist, Yonkers, NY (06/24/2019)

The Life Skills Specialist’s primary responsibility is to work with the activity programming of the cottage and the appearance of a cottage, to support children’s functioning in the areas of self-care, organization, and living environment.  The Life Skills Specialist ensures that the basic needs of the children are met, and that assigned cottage areas are maintained in a safe, orderly and clean condition. With the direction and support of the Program Manager, the Life Skills Specialist identifies areas that need improvement, and carries out tasks including cleaning and organizing cottage spaces and areas on grounds. The Life Skills Specialist provides appropriate supervision to the children as needed, and teaches & assists them with life Skills tasks. The Life Skills Specialist works as part of a multidisciplinary team including milieu therapists, recreation therapists, teachers, social workers and other professionals, all focused on providing the best possible environment for the children we serve.

High School Diploma with two (2) years of work experience with children.  Good oral and written communication skills.   Able to handle minor repairs, residential safety and vehicle inspection.  Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs and lift weights of up to 30lbs.  Must have physical capacity to restrain or assist in the restraint of a child.   Must have a driver’s license in good standing.  Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and to provide appropriate supervision of children.  Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm.

Part Time Senior Counselor, Eastchester, NY (06/24/2019)

The Part Time Senior Counselor is responsible for assisting the Director in developing and coordinating a quality after school program.  Oversees the day-to-day operation, responsible for planning activities and oversee daily staff duties. The Senior Counselor must be available for closing of the program each day at 6:30pm or later and available for evening parent meetings/holiday events/open houses. This position follows the Eastchester Union Free school district calendar.

High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year experience working with children and  some supervisory experience.   Must be computer literate in Excel and Word.   Strong written communication skills and ability to adhere to our organization’s core values.  Physical requirements are ability to walk, bend, run and climb stairs.   Must be able to work a flexible schedule.  Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30PM to 6:30PM

Director of Residential Services, Yonkers, NY (6/19/19)

The Director of Residential Services is a member of the campus leadership team who oversees all service components of the Residential Department.  The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all department staff and the safe and effective operation of programs and ensures that operations comply with all local, state and federal regulations governing such programs.  The Director ensures the various services are well coordinated to meet the complex needs of the children in care and programs are managed in a fiscally sound manner.   The Director also fully supports and collaborates with the Senior Campus Director to ensure that we are providing evidence based, innovative residential programming that drives ANDRUS and the field forward.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field required (MSW or MA preferred) with Five Years minimum of management experience and Ten year’s experience in a human service settings.  Must have a High level of personal organization, Strong oral and written communication skills and Ability to adhere to our organization’s core values.  Valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing required. Physical Requirements:  Reach, Walk and Climb Stairs. Schedule is Monday through Friday with weekends as needed.  Hours are 10am to 6pm but must be flexible work outside of those ours as needed.

Part Time Campus Safety Officer, Yonkers, NY (6/19/19)

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.   Must be a valid New York State licensed Security Officer in good standing, must maintain annual state certifications.  Some relevant experience in Security/Law Enforcement is preferred.  Good oral and written communication skills.   Comfortable interfacing with local law enforcement and security agencies as needed.  Aptitude for operation of basic computer and communication equipment, including walkie-talkies, and live feed monitoring of security cameras.  Ability to compose and complete timely professional reports.  Should be flexible to attend job-related training courses and expand skill set as needed.  Schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3pm  to 11pm.  Must have valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing.  Must be flexible based on program needs, extreme weather conditions or emergency situations.

ANDRUS is seeking Milieu Therapist’s and One to One’s who are responsible to maintain a safe, predictable and therapeutic living environment for children in care at ANDRUS. The Milieu Therapist provides close supervision, counseling, and support to the children during all cottage-based activities; plans and implements individual and group initiatives to build children’s skills and self-esteem; ensures that the basic needs of children are met, and that the cottage is maintained in a safe, orderly, predictable, therapeutic, structured and clean condition; works as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes recreation therapists, teachers, social workers and other professionals.

Director of ANDRUS Center for Learning and Innovation/Sanctuary Institute, Yonkers, NY (10/9/17)

The Director is responsible for the overall operations of the ANDRUS Center for Learning and Innovation and the Sanctuary Institute, including managing all training and product development, operations, contracts, scheduling and coordinating all training and consultation, and marketing. The Director provides oversight of fiscal management and accountability of the ACLI/SI.

REQUIREMENTS:  PhD, MSW, LCSW, LMSW, MPH or comparable graduate degree with a minimum of three (3) years management experience in a training/educational environment and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience with the Sanctuary Model. Strong organizational skills, written and communication skills are a must.  Must have ability to travel.  Strong technological background for telecommuting.  Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License in good standing.  Must be able to sit, stand, walk, see, climb stairs, and carry up to 30 lbs. Must have the ability to adhere to our organization’s core values. The scheduled is 9am – 5pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility is a must for this position. This role will entail approximately 80% travel with 50% overnight travel domestic and 5% overnight international travel.
